By: SSA Consultants

Baton Rouge, LA — The LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business and the Flores MBA Alumni Association-Baton Rouge Chapter selected Christel Slaughter of SSA Consultants to emcee the 2012 “Louisiana Looking Up” program Sept. 13 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at LSU’s Business Education Complex, located on Nicholson Drive Extension near Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

Slaughter's ties to LSU are strong — she holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a doctorate degree in Systems Management and Organizational Design from the university; and prior to embarking on her consulting career at SSA in 1983, Slaughter served as a Distinguished Alumni Professor for seven years. Three years ago she returned to the classroom to teach a course in the Flores MBA Program with her husband and the president of SSA Consultants, Bill Slaughter.

In 2010, LSU’s E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration inducted Slaughter into the Hall of Distinction for “making a significant contribution to business, academia, or government as well as to the community.” Most recently, in 2012, she received the Chancellor's Sesquicentennial Service Award, which seeks to honor individuals who have gone beyond the scope of their job or organization requirements to contribute their time and talents to LSU and the community in ways that benefit the common good.
